We did not choose God but in His mercy He chose us, not because of our good works. Tit 3:5. When He chose us, He had a purpose in His Mind why He chose us. And since God chose you before the foundation of the world, that is to mean that God knew you and chose you before He created the world or anything. Before Adam was created, God chose you. Eph 1:4. It is good therefore to know why we were chosen so that we can live purposely.
Chose to bear Much fruit and fruit that lasts. John 15:16
We are called to bear MUCH FRUIT. Many believers are just satisfied living through life without a purpose. There is no fruit in the lives of many yet God expects that we not only bear fruit, but MUCH FRUIT. Is there fruit in your life? In this context, Jesus talks about abiding in Him to bear fruit, and allowing Gods word to abide in us, continuing in love and keeping His commandments and loving one another. Jn 15:5,7,9,10,12,17.
Just like a branch receives sap from a tree for its sustainance, we must abide in Christ and by His Holy Spirit receive the life of Christ in our lives. This life of. Christ will create a hunger within us of God's word and we will not live without devouring it for its our only sustenance we will seek to obey Christs commandments and thus prove that we love Him. Welcome will also love others JUST AS CHRIST HAS LOVED US. How does Christ love us? He did not wait for us to be perfect but in our ignorance and stupidity He has loved us though we make so many mistakes, He bears with us. So loving others as Christ has loved us means loving others though they make many mistakes and are ignorant of many of God's truths and.
Bearing much may mean that Christ's character has to be increasing in us, and our hunger for God's word should also go on increasing year after year. And finally, OUR FRUIT SHOULD LAST means that you have to endure till the end. It's not God's will for us to become stagnant or backslide, but make consistent progress throughout our lives.
He talks about a vineyard which He did everything and gave the best expecting it to bear fruit only for it to bear wild grapes. That's the life of the unregenerate, those not born again and He asks, What more could have been done to it that i have not done? Why did it not bring grapes that I expected but brought forth wild grapes? Isaiah 5:4.This question is to you now? What more could God have done to you that He has not done? Why then is your character not becoming more Christlike but living as the children of Adam? What more?
Welcome are told that God has given us everything we need to live godly lives in this present life. 2Pet 1:3, Tit 2:11-12. We have no excuse for living ungodly lives even today.
God has chosen us to be holy and without blame before Him in love. Eph 1:4
To be holy is to be set apart for God in His purposes. For example in a place where there is a family dog, there maybe a sufuria which can be set apart to be used to cook dog meals and also a dish where it will be given it's food, if you live in such a home and your mother decides to clean up the sufuria and the dish and then use it to cook meals for you and serve you with that dish, no matter how hungry you are, you will not eat that food. Why, because that sufuria and the dish has been set apart for the dog. In the same way we are to be set apart for God's purposes. You are not available for any other purpose but only for God's. No part of your body should be used to serve sin but you become a servant of God which leads to a life of holiness for our God is holy. Have you forgotten that God is holy? Rom 6:13,22, 1Pet 1:14-16
To be blameless before him in love may mean that before God, when He looks at you, He sees to the best of your knowledge, you love him with all your heart, soul, strength and mind and your neighbour as yourself. You have no grudge or bitterness or anger against anyone. Mark 12:30-31
