MATHEW 26:14-30. THE MESSAGE OF THE GOSPELS

Judas got very offended with Jesus because Jesus didn't agree with him concerning selling perfume to give the money to the poor. He would have gotten an opportunity to steal part of the money as He used to; thus he went to look for money through another way; that is betraying Jesus Christ. He was given 30pieces of silver.

The disciples asked Jesus where He wished to take the supper and He sent them to a particular house and they prepared the last supper there.

As they were eating he said to them that one of them would betray him. They were distressed and grieved and each asking, 'is it I?'. Jesus knew Judas would but never exposed Him to the others. He kept silent.

In the same way we can learn from Jesus not to expose the sins of one person to the others, for each will be accountable to God personally.

We can also learn from the disciples to judge ourselves. They never pointed out their fingers to each other but to themselves. They judged themselves not others. I wish we learnt this and we'd live a much happier life; constantly judging ourselves and not others who are not our responsibility.

Judas just like others asked the same and Jesus answered that he said that himself.

Jesus took the bread and gave thanks and broke it and gave it to His disciples to eat, saying is His body broken for you.

Here we learn before God can use us to feed others and bless others, He first have to take us, that save us, then bless us, which is to fill us with the Holy Spirit, and the break us; that to humble us that we'll never have confidence in ourselves; always saying no to our will and yes to His will.

He gave the cup for them to drink saying this is His blood of the new covenant poured out for the remission of sins.

Jesus never drunk the cup again; He is waiting for us that He may drink with us again in His father's attitude.

Oh that this maybe our attitude; that we be selfless, to love others to experience what we have which we can enjoy alone. It's unfortunate that we are so self-centred that we rarely think of others who haven't experienced God as we have but God can take us out of our self-centred way of living to be thinking of others.

They Sung a hymn and went to the mount of olives to pray.

May we learn to sing songs in our hearts to the Lord, not only in the church but even in our homes; may our lives be marked out by prayer.

Are you a person of prayer or you know for murmuring and complaining?

You are blessed to be a blessing
