Many followed Jesus seeing the miracles of healing. When Jesus saw a large crowd coming, He tested Philip by asking him where they should buy bread for the people to eat, but He himself knew what he should do.
Even today, God tests us. He may ask you a question or tell you to do something which is a test of faith. In fact the bible tells us that the testing that we face are the tests of faith; it is our faith in the Lord which gets tested, whether we believe in God's word, in God's promises, in God's faithfulness, in God's love, in God's wisdom, in God's almighty power... _Jam 1:3, 1Pet 1:7_
We learn hear also that though God is testing us, He always has a solution to every problem we face. So far as we have made the studies, in Mathew and Luke, and now in John, there is not a single case that we have found where Jesus faced a problem to which He never had a solution. There is no place we see Him scratching His head wondering what to do.
Therefore, whichever problem you may be facing or you will face in the future, Christ has a solution for it. Trust Him.
Philip acknowledged what he had and confessed that wasn't enough. Andrew acknowledged what they had, five loaves and 2 fish.
Jesus then asked the people to sit down.
One thing we consistently see about Jesus is that He is always seeking from us and honest acknowledgement of our specific need. He does nothing until we acknowledge our specific need. Learn to be honest and specific and you will see tremendous power of Gods love to you as He answers your prayers. An earlier case we saw was a blind man's who cried to him for mercy, but Jesus didn't heal him until He asked him what he wanted and he acknowledged that his eyes should be opened. Therefore we must be honest and specific in prayer.
Jesus blessed the loaves and gave the disciples to distribute them.
When did the multiplication happened?
It was as they gave what they had and came for more to give to others; when we use what we have to bless others, God increases it for us to bless more, just like the oil, as long as there were empty jars to be filled, the oil always flowed, but the moment there was no more, the oil stopped. _2Kings 4:3-6._
As long as you are seeking to bless others, God will continue increasing you and giving you more and more, but the moment you think that's enough, and you are satisfied with how much you have accomplished or how many you have blessed, God will stop using you to bless others and you will become stale.
Only you can limit God to how much He can use you to bless others. Seek always to bless others and never get satisfied with how much you have reached, seek greener pastures of blessing more and more and God will always pour more into you for you to bless others and You always have much more for yourself left.
You are blessed to be a blessing
