STUDY IX. THE WEAPONS OF OUR WARFARE

KNOWING THE ENEMIES TECHNIQUES

Paul warns the Corinthians that he was afraid that they may be deceived in their minds by the serpent from their simple, pure devotion to Christ. 2Cor 11:3.

We see here that the most important thing to a child of God is the simple, pure, undivided devotion to Christ. Eve was deceived from parting from the tree of life to instead taking of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Simple, pure devotion to Christ is the tree of life that we need to partake of by the devil gets us sidetracked from it and we begin thinking in our minds that there is something else more important than that.

Someone said that if the devil cannot make us bad, he will make us busy.

It's not always bad things, it can even be ministry.

If the devil makes you think that what we call , "doing ministry" is the most important thing, and we live ignore simple devotion to Christ; we will be weared and then destroyed.

If we don't make simple, pure, devotion to Christ the most important thing, no matter how busy we will be in "ministry", we will not even accomplish even 10% of all that God wants to accomplish through us.

God does not want your "ministerial activities" He wants your love.

He says to the Ephesus pastor who was busy in ministry, worked very hard, endured for the gospel, tested the servants who claimed to be of God and found them liars, endured for the name of Christ and didn't grow weary, hated deeds that God hated,...

Yet with all this qualities, God called this pastor a backslider who had fallen so badly that that unless he repented, God would withdraw His presence from his church.

Rev 2:1-7

If a church or a person is busy serving God, it is no indication that God is with them. This church continued with their church activities but God withdrew His presence because they left their first love.

It's is love that God wants from us. Jesus asked Peter whether he loved Him more than the fish He gave Him three times. When Peter said yes, that he loved Him, He told him to feed His sheep.

Do you love Jesus more than the physical blessings that He gives you or have you fallen in love with the gift more than the giver. Are you taken up with the gift or the giver.

Ps 73:25 says, whom have I in heaven but you, and there is nothing I desire on earth besides you.

This is the devotion God's wants from us. There is nothing attracts you to heaven, not the mansions, not the angels, not even the saints, but Jesus Himself, and even now as you live, Jesus is the only one you desire, not blessings, not gifts and not even ministry.

Being busy for God does not mean that you love God. You maybe trying to cover up a hidden sin, and God will not accept your service and offering and sacrifices that you may give.

Micah 6:3-8- God doesn't want all our sacrifices, and gifts and services, when we are still living in sin. It's like serving food on a plate that was in a sewage without cleaning it first, however good intentioned you are, God will not accept it. Even the whole nights prayers, God will not even listen. Whatever we do as a substitute for obedience is never acceptable to God.

Isaiah 1:11-18, says the same thing, God will never accept anything we do for Him if we are unwilling to turn from sin.

Ps 51:17-19, God only accepts what we do for Him righteousness.

Do you love the Lord Jesus?

He says that if you love me, you will keep my commandments. John 14:15

It's not sentimental, emotional love, but one that leads to to obey Him and want to please Him in everything and displease Him in nothing. One that makes you better taken up with the Lord, not ministry or gifts or position or anything temporary.

It's easy to say and sing that I love Jesus, but it's hard to prove it in everydays activities.

Have you been led astray in your mind to think serving God is more important than your simple pure devotion to Christ? Change your mind and decide that simple pure devotion to Christ will be the most important thing in your life.

Don't let the devil make you Less effective by changing your value on ministry compared to simple pure devotion to Christ.

You are blessed to be a blessing
