KNOWING CHRIST VIII

STUDY VIII “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.” Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them. Anyone who doesn’t love me will not obey me. And remember, my words are not my own. What I am telling you is from the Father who sent me. John 14:15, 21-24 What God wants from us is that we love Him. The relationship that God desires from us is not of the master and servant but the relationship between the bride and bridegroom who are deeply in love with each other. Jesus gives the parable of the wedding feast and of the ten virgins showing us the most important relationship He wants us to have with Him. Mathew 22, and chapter 25. “I don’t want your sacrifices—I want your love; I don’t want your offerings—I want you to know me. Hos 6:6. God desires that we know Him. Here God expresses that it's not our sacrifices and offering that He desires from us but that we love Him and know Him. God desires intimacy with us. But He also says that if we love Him, we will obey Him. Many claim to love the Lord but the acid test of our love is our obedience to Him. If we are walking in disobedience,it simply means that we don't love Him. H Those who love Jesus, He says that He will reveal Himself to that person. Whoever the person is, wherever that are, whichever the age, Christ will reveal Himself to them. He adds that He will even make J His home in that persons life. Do you desire Christ to reveal Himself to you? Do you want God to make a Home in your life? Then love the Lord and obey Him. It's the only thing that you need. What would happen if Christ revealed Himself to you and also made a home in your life? Depression and discouragement would disappear. Anxiety and fear would disappear. Insecurity will disappear. Your life will be full of peace and rest. You would be secure in the Lord. God would always provide ready answers to all your questions. Nothing would shake you. You'd always be fruitful. Love the Lord. He longs that you know Him more than you do now. There still more room for you to know Christ than you already know. Don't be yet satisfied. Have the insatiable desire to know more of Him. Love Him, walk with Him, obey Him. Remember this, is “I don’t want your sacrifices—I want your love; I don’t want your offerings—I want you to know me.
